MNA Culture Desk: Bangladesh Television will mark its 53rd founding anniversary organising a get-together of artistes and technicians on Monday, at Rampura TV Bhaban in the capital.
Bangladesh Television, a state-owned Television network, started its journey on 25 December, 1964 in the name of Dhaka Television, first of its kind in the subcontinent.
Dhaka Television launched its test transmission from a small floor of DIT Building. Later, it was renamed as Bangladesh Television in 1972, just after the independence of the country in 1971.
Apart from broadcasting news, Bangladesh Television gained popularity among the people through airing different kinds of programmes including plays, feature films, education, magazine programmes and documentaries.
