MNA Feature Desk: Some 84 children were violated in every month in the just-concluded year, according to a report of Bangladesh Shishu Adhikar Forum (BSAF).
It said some 1,383 children were sexually assaulted in 2019.
The BSAF revealed the report at a press briefing at Dhaka Reporters Unity in the capital on Wednesday.
The report is the compilation of reports published in 15 daily newspapers.
As per the report, 4,381 children were the victims of various kinds of torture. Of them, 2,088 children were the victims of unnatural death and 1,383 were sexually assaulted. The rate of rape is increased by 70.34 per cent.
It divided child torture in six categories–unnatural death, sexual assault, kidnap, torture, killed by hit and early marriage.
Some 3,136 children were raped from 2015-19. The average rate in every month was over 52.
The child killing rate was increased by 7.18 per cent in the last year. The average rate in every month was 37. The child killing incident was highest in number among the last five years. Some 448 children were killed in 2019 which was 418 in 2018.
