PM asks AL activists to help capture militants

MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the activists of the Awami League to help capture the militants by informing the law-enforcing agencies.

“Militancy and terrorism won’t be allowed in Bangladesh. We must maintain our tough stance against those,” Prime Minister told a discussion organized by party’s central committee on the occasion of 98th birthday of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Saturday.

“Bangabandhu dreamt of establishing Bangladesh as Switzerland of the East. We want to materialize the dream of Bangabandhu when the nation would celebrate the birth centenary of the great leader in 2020,” she added.

On Friday, a suicide bomber died in a blast during an attack on RAB camp in Ashkona. Another suspect arrested in Ashkona were killed in RAB custody.

In Chittagong’s Sitakunda, four suspects were killed on Thursday in a raid following the detention of a ‘militant couple’ in another raid on Wednesday.
