MNA Culture & Entertainment Desk: Singer Sonu Nigam held a press conference at his residence where he clarified his statements and told the media about his intentions in tweeting message on a public forum.

The Bollywood singer has shaved his head after a Fatwa was issued announcing 10 Lakh rupees for anyone who shaves Nigam’s head.

“Everyone has a right to opinion. You have to be considerate. In the end, I just want to say that come above these small little controversies and try understanding the bigger picture.” He said.

When he was asked as to why he only targeted the ‘Azaan’ and did not include other religions in his tweets, he said, ‘I didn’t target any particular religion. I am not saying that Azaan or bhajans should not happen, I want to say that loudspeakers should not be played during wee hours of the day. Azaan is important, not loudspeakers!’

Under pressure from various quarters, Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam on Wednesday offered to apologize if his recent controversial tweets were found to be ‘anti-Muslim’, reported news agency.

Earlier, on Monday, Nigam blew up a controversy when he lashed out as ‘forced religiousness’ in India after being woken up the Azaan’ (Muslim calls for prayer) from a mosque near his home.
