Home Slider Bangabandhu Peshajibi League pays homage on Bangabondhu’s Homecoming Day
MNA National Desk: On the eve of Bangabondhu’s homecoming day, Bangabandhu Peshajibi League Leaders have paid their tributes at the portrait of the Father of the Nation in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Road-32 of Dhanmondi in the city this morning.
Bangabandhu Peshajibi League president Dr. Sarker Md. Abul Kalam Azad, general secretary Sheikh Jamal Ahmed, assistant secretary Kaushik Ahmed and Tusher Abdullah along with other senior leaders were present in celebrating this auspicious occasion.
Throughout the liberation war of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was imprisoned in Pakistan and after independence, he was released and returned to his beloved homeland which received a new identity ‘Bangladesh’ under his leadership, amid a tumultuous emotional welcome by his fellow countrymen on January 10, 1972. From then, this day is celebrated every year as Bangabondhu’s homecoming day.
Earlier Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with top leaders of the government and Awami League also paid homage at Dhanmondi.
