Bdjobs CEO arrested for ridiculing PM

MNA National Desk: AKM Fahim Mashroor, chief executive officer of Bangladesh’s largest online job site bdjobs.com, has been arrested over his Facebook post ridiculing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, said a team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit detained him from the city’s Karwan Bazar area around 1pm, reported news agency.

He was detained for interrogation, he added.

Mashroor launched the job site about 18 years ago. He is also the chief executive of social media Beshto and e-commerce site Ajkerdeal.com. He is the ex-president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
