BNP activists torch police cars during clash in Naya Paltan

MNA National Desk: BNP supporters have clashed with the police on the third day of the party’s nomination form sale, in front of the party’s headquarters at Naya Paltan in Dhaka.

It is unclear what triggered the clash. BNP activists are fighting running battles with police in front of their headquarters.

TV footage shows several BNP activists vandalizing two vehicles and torching them. BNP activists hurled brick chunks at police. Law enforcement responded by firing teargas canisters.

It is unclear how many people have been injured in the clash. Police and stick-wielding BNP activists took position on two ends of the street.
