BNP leader Amir Khosru sent to jail

MNA National Desk: A Chittagong court sent BNP leader Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury to jail after rejecting his bail petition in a case filed under ICT Act.

Metropolitan Session Judge Akbar Hossain Mridha passed the order on Sunday (October 21), reported news agency.

Earlier, the High Court granted anticipatory bail to Amir Khosru in the case.

The case was filed under sections 57 (2) of ICT Act and 15 (3) of Special Power Act with Chittagong Kotwali Police Station on August 4.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chattogram city unit Acting General Secretary Jakaria Dastagir filed the case on charges of provoking the recent student movement for safe roads.
