MNA National Desk: BNP started a two-hour token hunger strike in Dhaka demanding its Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release from jail and her proper treatment.
The program began on the premises of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh around 10am on Wednesday.
BNP leaders and activists holding banners, festoons, and placards joined the program. They are chanting slogans demanding their chairperson be freed from jail, reported news agency.
A large number of law enforcers were also deployed near the venue to maintain law and order.
The token hunger strike is scheduled to end around noon. Additionally, a similar program is being held in all district towns and metropolitans across Bangladesh.
