BSMRSTU, DIU Environment Day programme

MNA Education Desk: With the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution” the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management (ESDM) of Daffodil International University (DIU) observed ‘World Environment Day-2018’ yesterday.

To mark the day department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management of DIU organised a rally and project exhibition to create awareness of the restoration of environment.

The rally led by Prof Dr SM Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, pro-vice-chancellor, was brought out at the university premises. After the rally, project exhibition was inaugurated at the Student Lounge of Daffodil Tower by Prof Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder and Prof Dr AKM Fazlul Hoque, registrar of the university.

On the other hand, the Department of Environment Science and Disaster Managementof Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University (BSMRSTU) celebrated the World Environment Day 2018 yesterday with much enthusiasm and festivity on the campus.

To mark the day, BSMRSTU chalked out a day-long event including colorful procession participated by students, teachers and staffs of the university inaugurated by vice-chancellor Prof Dr Khondoker Nasiruddin. The motto of the programme was “Beat Plastic Pollution, if you can’t reuse it, refuse it.”

The rally was started from the administrative building. Then Prof Khondoker Nasiruddin, Prof Dr M A Sattar, dean of life science faculty, Prof Dr Abdur Rahim, dean of science faculty, discussed the significance of the day.
