Cyclone Mora: Starts crossing coastal region


MNA National Desk: The powerful cyclonic storm Mora has started crossing Cox’s Bazar and Chittagong region at 6:00am today (Tuesday), said Met Office.

Maximum sustained wind speed within 64 kms of the centre of the cyclone is about 89 kph, rising to 117 kph.

The special bulletin also asked the maritime ports of Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar to hoist danger signal no. 10 while coastal districts of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Feni, Chandpur and their offshore islands and chars also will come under danger signal no 10.

Maritime ports of Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted great danger signal number eight.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
