Diamond World Music Festival launched at JnU

MNA Education Desk (JnU Correspondent): A two-day long music festival titled – Diamond World International Music Festival-2017 began for the first time on Jagannath University (JnU) campus on Tuesday.

JnU Music Department in association with Diamond World Ltd organized the festival at the central auditorium of the university.

The festival started with the song ‘Aanondo Dhonnee Jagao Gogone’ at 10:00am.

Later, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the festival as Chief Guest enkindling mongol prodip.

JnU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman, Treasurer Prof Md Salim Bhuiyan and Diamond World Ltd Managing Director Dilip Kumar were present as Special Guests on the occasion with JnU Music Department Chairperson Anima Roy in the chair.

JnU Music Department Assistant Prof Mahmudul Hasan gave a welcome speech at the programme.

Renowned singers Shaheen Samad, Shama Rahman, Laisa Ahmed Lisa, Samina Chowdhury, Anima Roy and Shafi Mandal swayed the audience by rendering different kinds of songs in the first day of the festival.

Moreover, 11 distinguished artists from Indonesia and 5 from China also took part in the festival.
