DU students form human chain

MNA Education Desk: Students of Geography and Environmental Science Department at Dhaka University on Monday formed a human chain in front of the Annex Building protesting police action on the demonstrating students.

The hour-long human chain began at about 11am.

Students, who joined the human chain with placards and festoons, said the government should accept the demand for reforming quota system as the demand is legitimate.

The protesters said one of their fellow students was injured by bullet during Sunday’s protest programme on the campus demanding reform of quota system in government job.

Earlier, a group of protesters tore down the main gate of the VC’s house around 1:45am on Monday. They vandalised window glasses before going on the rampage inside the house.
