MNA National Desk: Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance train tickets on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Tickets for 21 June journeys are available on Monday.
Each passenger will be able to buy a maximum of four tickets. Around 30,000 tickets are made available than the normal day sale of train tickets, said Railway sources.
Tickets for 22 June will be available on Tuesday on the second day of sale while for 23 June on 14 June, for 24 June on 15 June and for 25 June on 16 June.
Return tickets for June 28 will be available on June 19, June 29 on June 20, June 30 on June 21, July 1 on June 22, and tickets for July 2 will be sold on June 23.
Earlier, Railways Minister Mujibul Haque said seven pairs of special trains would run on various routes from June 23 to June 25 before Eid, and from June 28 to July 3 after Eid.
These trains are Dewanganj special (Dhaka-Dewanganj-Dhaka), Chandpur special-1 and Chandpur special-2 (Chittagong-Chandpur-Chittagong), Parbatipur Special (Parbatipur-Dhaka-Parbatipur) and Rajshahi Special (Rajshahi-Dhaka-Rajshahi).
Besides, two trains — Kishoreganj special-1 (Bhairab-Kishoreganj-Bhairab) and Kishoreganj special-2 (Mymensingh-Kishoreganj-Mymensingh) — will run on Eid day for the Sholakia Eid prayers, said the minister.
