MNA National Desk: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Wednesday claimed that poet and columnist Farhad Mazhar’s statement over his abduction does not match the facts.
“We’ve found that the video and CCTV footages, call lists and other evidence that we’ve collected during investigation don’t support his statement (Farhad’s) given before a court under section 164 of the Penal Code,” he said.
Speaking at a programme at the DMP headquarters in the capital, the police officer said everything in this regard will be known soon, after the investigation.
Asaduzzaman also said the mystery over the Farhad wbduction would be solved in a day or two.
Farhad Mazhar and his family said the poet was abducted from his Shyamali’s Adabar residence early morning on 3 July and the law enforcers rescued him from Khulna 18 hours into his abduction.
Farhad in his statement given before a court under Section 164 said he was picked up by a group of miscreants by a microbus.
