Former Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin passes away

MNA National Desk: Former Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin died undergoing treatment at a Singapore General Hospital on Tuesday. MM Ruhul breathed his last early in the morning. He was 75.

MM Ruhul was suffering from several physical complexities for a long time. He was shifted to Singpore hospital for better treatment.

He was appointed as the 16th Chief Justice of Bangladesh on 1 June 2008. He retired from the post on 22 December 2009.

He has been serving as the chairman of Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission since 2004.

Born in Laxmipur on December 23, 1942, MM Ruhul earned a masters degree in history in 1963 and completed LLB in 1966 from Dhaka University.
