Golam Sarwar’s body taken to Shaheed Minar

MNA National Desk: The body of Daily Samakal Editor Golam Sarwar has been taken to Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka around 11am on Thursday.

The body will be kept there till 12:30pm for people from all walks of life to pay their last respect.

Golam Sarwar’s body was taken to his Tejgaon office around 8:30am where his colleagues paid their last respect.

Later, the body will be taken to National Press Club around 1pm.

The Samakal Editor died at Singapore General Hospital at 9:25pm on August 13 at the age 75. The eminent journalist of the country was admitted to LabAid Hospital in Dhaka on 29 July being attacked by pneumonia.

He was air lifted to Singapore on August 3 for better treatment as his condition deteriorated.
