MNA Education Desk (JnU Correspondent): Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said that group-based politics will never exist in Bangabandhu’s Chhatra League.
No group is also in the present BCL committee led by Sohag–Jakir. None would grab any post by making a group; rather leader would be elected according to his capability.
The Minister Obaidul Quader, also Awami League General Secretary, came up with this comment as Chief Guest while addressing the BCL annual council-2017 of Jagannath University (JnU) unit at Science Faculty premises on the campus at 12:00pm.
Pointing at BCL leaders and activists, he said that you will have to work for the interest of the mass people and their welfare.
The Minister also said that BNP is directly and indirectly supporting the militant activities to interrupt the present government’s development, adding that to implement the government’s goal, we all will have to stand strictly against these communal and extremist forces to root out militancy from the country.
Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayed Khokon, Former Posts and Telecommunication Minister Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, Nazrul Islam Babu (MP) and Awami League law maker Adv. Kazi Najibullah Hiru, among others, were present at the programme as Special Guests.
Earlier, central BCL President Saifur Rahman Sohag inaugurated the function while its General Secretary SM Jakir Hossain was present as the Chief Speaker.
The programme was conducted by JnU BCL General Secretary SM Sirazul Islam with its President FM Shariful Islam in the chair.
JnU BCL present and former leaders and activists also joined at the council carrying banners, festoons, and placards.
