MNA National Desk: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad, the former military dictator, now a special envoy to the prime minister, has been admitted to a hospital in his native Rangpur.
He was taken to the Combined Military Hospital late on Tuesday, his said personal secretary Khaled Aktar.
He said Ershad was attending a party programme in Dhaka’s Chankuthi area on Tuesday night. As he felt unwell while returning to his residence, he was taken to the CMH at about 8:30pm.
Now, his condition is well and he might be released from the hospital on Wednesday night, the PS said.
Mostafizur Rahman Mostafa, president of city unit Jatiya Party, said the JP chief was scheduled to attend two programmes today. However, these were cancelled following his illness.
