India thump England to complete 4-0 series win

MNA Sports Desk: India saved the best for the last as a dramatic turnaround on the fifth day of the final in Chennai allowed the hosts to clinch the series 4-0.
England, which started the day at 12/0 on a pitch that hardly had any support for bowlers, were bowled out for 207 as India beat them by an innings and 75 runs. India’s fifth day charge was led by the left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja, who picked seven wickets on the final day.
English openers, Alastair Cook (49) and Keaton Jennings (54) put up a solid stand of 103 to guide the visiting team to lunch without losing a wicket. Things, however, changed in the second session as they lost four wickets before tea, with Jadeja picking three of them.
Indian bowlers went for a kill in the final session of the day as the English resistance crumbled to handover the victory to India. The first time in the history of the game a team lost a Test match by an innings after posting over 450 runs in the first innings.
India claimed the series 4-0, extending their unbeaten run in Tests to 18 matches – their longest ever – since losing the first Test at Galle against Sri Lanka in August 2015.
