JnU suspended one for assaulting female students

MNA Education Desk: The authorities of Jagannath University on Tuesday have temporarily suspended a student on charge of molesting some female students on the campus.

JnU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman confirmed the matter to the Daily Observer.

The suspended student was identified as Shafiqul Gani Shapon, a student of Sociology Department, bearing roll no B140404090 under 2014-15 session, of the university.

The decision of the suspension was taken as the allegation was primarily proved true against him.

Sources said that Shapon went to an altercation with some female students of Fine Arts Department during an exam period held at the outdoor of Botanical Garden when he was not allowed by the female students to enter into that exam room.

Later, he along with his friends physically harassed them. At this, the female student submitted a written complaint to the university authorities regarding the fact to take action against him immediately.
