JU launches Bangabandhu Institute

MNA Education Desk: Jahangirnagar University launched Bangabandhu Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture (BICLC) on Monday where academic activities will begin from this year.

Vice Chancellor Professor Farzana Islam inaugurated the activities of the Bangabandhu Institute as chief guest.

Addressing the function, JU VC urged the teachers and students of the institute to acquire knowledge on other literatures and cultures beside Bengali and enrich Bengali literature and culture by comparative study with others.

Presided over by Director of the Institute Prof Rezaul Islam, JU Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq addressed the function as special guest.

Students and teachers of the newly launched institute were present at the function.

A total of 25 students- 13 male and 12 female- has enrolled for the academic session 2017–18 while a total of 4 teachers have been appointed primarily to run the honours programs in this institute.
