Karwan Bazar slum catches fire

MNA National Desk: A fire broke out at the railway slum near Karwan Bazar in Dhaka on Monday afternoon. Being informed three units of fire fighters rushed to the spot said Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters officials.

However, rail communication was distracted due to the incident near the railway track. Local people said the fire originated from a house at the slum. Later, the flames engulfed other houses.

The fire was brought under control at about 12:45pm as five units of fire fighters joined the rescue operation.  A total of twenty five shanties damaged during the fire, reported news agency.
