Kushtia Islamic University loses appeal

MNA Education Desk: The Appellate Division has upheld a High Court decision scrapping Kushtia Islamic University choice to cancel F Unit admission tests over allegations of question paper leaks.

As a result, about 100 students admitted to the two divisions after the exams can continue their studies, a lawyer involved in the case said.

In April this year, the High Court declared the decision to cancel the entrance exam illegal. The university administration then appealed the case.

An appellate bench led by acting Chief Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah declared the verdict in the appeal on Wednesday.

Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal stood for the petitioners while Attorney General Mahbubey Alam represented the state.

Two divisions of Islamic University’s F Unit (mathematics and statistics) held their admission exams on Dec 7 last year.
