MNA National Desk: The maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3 as steep pressure ‘Gradient’ lies over the North Bay.
Heavy rainfall is likely to take place at places over Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Barisal and Chittagong divisions, said a Met Office bulletin.
All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay were advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, he said.
The highest rainfall for last 24 hours till 6:00pm on Friday was recorded 204mm at Srimangal in Sylhet and the maximum temperature was recorded 36.2 degrees Celsius in Jessore.
Landslides may also occur at places over the hilly regions of Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
