New campus for JnU at Dhaka’s Keraniganj

KeraniganjMNA National Desk: The Jagannath University (JnU) will get a new campus at Dhaka’s Keraniganj at the outer edge of the capital.

“We are really happy as the Cabinet has decided to do so,” Nurul Islam Nahid told a media briefing on Monday.

The Education Minister also said that the new campus will be constructed at the site in Keraniganj, where the government has already cleared a project to build a 10-storey building as a residential hall for students.

The JnU students protesting for construction of residential halls for them on the empty space of recently abandoned Dhaka Central Jail since August 2.

Established in 2005, the only non-residential university of the country has 11 dormitories in different areas in Old Dhaka.
