Railway has been in trouble since the start of Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (Demo) train imported from China. No initiative was taken to repair after trains damaged.

In 2016, a project of constructing a workshop of Tk 308 to repair demo train was taken but it was shut down amid criticism. As a result, the trains gradually are becoming unfit to run without major overhauling despite routine repair. Commuter services too run by the trains often remain shut.
