PM reaches to flood affected haor areas in Sumanganj

MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached in Sunamganj on Sunday morning to see for herself the woes of the flood-affected haor people.

Sheikh Hasina will visit flashflood-hit haor areas and distribute relief goods among affected people. PM will also hold a meeting with the officials where she would give necessary directives to overcome the situation.

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam, Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, State Minister for Finance MA Mannan, State Minister for Water Resources Nazrul Islam are accompanying the prime minister.

The water level in the hoar marked an unusual rise due to incessant rainfall for the last few days and water rushing down from the upstream hilly areas.

Sunamganj, Sylhet, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Netrakona and Brahmanbaria districts were affected mostly by the floods.
