PM reaches New York to attend UNGA

MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached New York on Sunday afternoon to attend the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

An Etihad Airways flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at the JFK International Airport at 4:35 pm (local time), reported news agency.

Bangladesh Ambassador to the USA M Ziauddin and Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to UN Masud Bin Momen received her at the airport.

Leaders of USA Awami League and huge expatriate Bangladeshis living in the USA gathered at the airport to give a hearty welcome to the Prime Minister.

From the airport, Hasina went to Hotel Grand Hyatt in New York in a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during her tour. US AL leaders and expatriate Bangladeshis also welcomed her at the hotel lobby.

Sheikh Hasna will address the UNGA on the afternoon of September 21.
