MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave Dhaka for Sweden on Tuesday upon an invitation by her Swedish counterpart Stefan Löfven.
Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali, in his Sunday press briefing said the Swedish prime minister has invited her for the visit.
This will be the first ever bilateral visit (June 15-16) by any head of state of Bangladesh to Sweden. The premier will have a stopover in London, he told journalists in the morning.
The Bangladesh PM will lead a high-power delegation including a 47-member high-level business delegation during the visit, the FM said.
Sweden was one of the first countries in Europe that supported Bangladesh in 1971. Feb 4, 2017 marked the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Her visit will be followed by a joint statement. She is scheduled to return home June 17.
