MNA National Desk: In a reshuffle in the cabinet, the government on Wednesday reallocated the portfolios of six ministers and state ministers and gave portfolios to three new ministers, aiming to infuse further dynamism into the administration.
New face AKM Shajahan Kamal replaced Rashed Khan Menon as the civil aviation and tourism minister while the latter was made the minister for social welfare.
State minister for social welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed, who had been acting as a minister, will now remain as a state minister.
Another new face, Mustafa Jabbar, was made the posts, telecommunications and ICT minister while Kazi Keramat Ali was made state minister for the education ministry’s technical and madrasa education division.
Narayan Chandra Chanda, who was a state minister, was elevated to a full minister, being given the charge of fisheries and livestock ministry.
State minister for posts and telecommunications Tarana Halim has been made state minister for information.
