MNA Business Desk: PRAN, a leading food processing company, on Sunday started collecting pickles for the 18th edition of PRAN National Pickle Competition 2017.
Only Women will be able to take part in the competition which started on 23 July and will continue till 25 August.
Top winner of the competition will get Tk 2 lakh as prize. Therefore, a total of 12 women, in four categories- sweet, sour, hot and mixed – will win 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize while another 35 will get complimentary prizes. Winners of 1st places will get Tk 50,000 each, winners of 2nd place with a washing machine each and winners of 3rd places with a microwave oven each.
Pickle will be selected by judging six characteristics— taste, external features, preservation, nutrition, packaging and newness. A panel of judges will select the winners of the competition.
