PrimeRoad Transportation and Bridges Minister and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader greeted the PM with a speech during the reception at the airport. Quader defined Sheikh Hasina as the ‘lighthouse of distressed humanity’ and the ‘mother of humanity’ for her management of the Rohingya crisis.

“You have made us look brighter, you have made us feel prouder, you have made us stand taller,” he said.

“Leaders of the Awami League and its affiliates will be on the two sides of the street from the airport to Ganabhaban,” Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-Ul Alam Hanif said. Awami League supporters were waiting in line around the streets near the prime minister’s office.
