Quota protesters want gazette by Thursday

MNA National Desk: The quota protesters have threatened to wage movement again on Sunday if  a gazette based on the Prime Minister’s assurance of abolishing the existing system is not published by Thursday.

General Students’ Rights Protection Council convener Hasan Al Mamun came up with the threat from a human chain at the TSC of Dhaka University on Wednesday.

Students and job seekers first demonstrated on the campus and then formed a human chain at the TSC area which was continued till 12:30pm.

However, the quota reform protest turned into a violent movement after April 8.

Following the movement, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on April 11 announced at the National Parliament that there will be no quota system in government jobs anymore.
