Respect to all women on Mother’s Day

MNA Editorial Desk: International Mother’s Day is being observed across the country as elsewhere in the world, with much affection and we all should show the utmost respect to all women.

The International Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May every year paying tributes and gratitude to mothers around the world.

The day is celebrated in Bangladesh through different programmes in electronic media and according grand reception to mothers of jewels recognizing their contributions to the family, society and nation.

However, the origin of Mother’s Day goes back to the era of ancient Greek and Romans. But the roots of Mother’s Day history can also be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US.

Thanks, to the hard work of the pioneering women of their times, Julia Ward Howe and Anna Jarvis that the day came into existence. Today the festival of Mother’s day is celebrated across 46 countries (though on different dates) and is a hugely popular affair.

Millions of people across the globe take the day as an opportunity to honor their mothers, thank them for their efforts in giving them life, raising them and being their constant support and well-wisher.

A special day in the honor of mothers, Mother’s Day is celebrated in several countries around the world though on different dates. In a large number of countries including US, Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May, but in many other countries Mother’s Day is celebrated in an entirely different time of the year.

But whatever may be the date of Mother’s Day around the world, the spirit is the same everywhere. Everywhere in the world mothers get respect for their extreme devotion towards their kids.

And on Mother’s Day children pay their humblest tribute to their mothers and thank them for giving them birth and providing them with the best of care and upbringing.
