MNA National Desk: The daily Samakal editor Golam Sarwar died in a Singapore hospital at 9:25pm on Monday (Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihe rajiun). He was 75.
The eminent journalist of the country was admitted to LabAid Hospital in Dhaka on 29 July being attacked by pneumonia.
He was air lifted to Singapore on August 3 for better treatment as his condition deteriorated.
He was put on life support on as his blood pressure fell on Monday afternoon, and died at night.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of renowned journalist Golam Sarwar.
Prime Minister’s Media Adviser and daily Observer editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury also mourned the death of the veteran journalist of the country and extended his sympathy to the bereaved family of the late editor.
