MNA Life Style Desk: The Muslim Ummah has just entered the ten days of forgiveness in Ramadan. Alhamdulillah, by the Grace of Allah, Most High, we have completed the first 10 days of Ramadan, the first Ashrah of Ramadan and you just prayed the 11th Taraveeh prayer and Insha’Allah if you rise in the morning to see another day, you will intend to fast the 11th day of Ramadan.
Our Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned in hadith that Ramadan has three parts: the first 10 days are of mercy (rahmah) from Allah, the middle 10 days are of forgiveness (maghfirah) from Allah and the last 10 days are of emancipation from the Hell fire.
It’s strange when we think of this that the middle 10 days are the days of maghfirah from Allah. We should actually be increasing in our passion in these middle 10 days. And that is one way to understand how Allah has put His rahmah in the first 10 days i.e. out of His Mercy Allah, allowed us to fast although we weren’t worthy of such an ibadah.
In the first 10 days, Allah, out of His Mercy let us increase in our good works (a‘amaal), in our worship (ibadaat) although we weren’t worthy of such an honor and in the first 10 days, out of His Mercy, Allah enabled us to do those a’amaal that may now be a means of earning His maghfirah. That is really what the whole month of Ramadan is; the whole month of Ramadan is just another occasion, just an “excuse” for Allah, to forgive our sins.
Now Allah increases the forgiveness! Every day and every night (in these middle 10 days) Allah will take out thousands and thousands of His slaves from the destiny of Hell fire and will be now admitted into Jannah.
So these are some acts we should in the days of forgiveness:
- Ask Allah for forgiveness in these days the most than any other days. Also make sure that do not repeat your sins once you have done Tauba.
- Do Tauba many times as Allah loves Tauba, and especially during this Ashra Allah loves to forgive and loves that person who seeks forgiveness.
- Forgive your beloved ones in these days of forgiveness as Allah loves Maghfirah.
So, it behooves us now, rather than letting ourselves dip rather than lapsing, that we should enter these middle 10 days with a renewed passion and the passion that we should have in these 10 days is seeking the forgiveness of Allah.
The Prophet (P.B.U.H) has said, “Do repent in this month to Allah for your sins, and supplicate with raised hands at the time of prayer as these are the best times, during which Allah Al-Mighty looks at his servants with mercy.”
“Allah answers if they supplicate, responds if they call, grants if He is asked, and accepts if they entreat. O People! You have made your conscience the slave of your desires. Make it free by invoking Allah for forgiveness. Your back may break from the heavy load of your sins, so prostrate (sajda) yourself before Allah, for long intervals, and make this load lighter.”
