Shakib regains test all-rounders top spot, overtakes Ashwin

MNA Sports Desk: Shakib Al Hasan moved ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin to regain the top spot in ICC Test all-rounders rankings published on Wednesday.

A sparkling show with both the bat and the ball in the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo gave the star Bangladesh cricketer a 28-point boosted on to 431 points, past Ashwin (408).

Two weeks ago, the ace all-rounder had moved to the top of the rankings displacing Ashwin after the talismanic Indian cricketer underperformed against Australia.

The Bangladesh pair of Shakib Al Hasan (21st) and Mushfiqur Rahim (28th), Australia’s Peter Handscomb (35th) and New Zealand batsmen Jeet Raval (43rd) and Henry Nicholls (45th) have also achieved career-best rankings, according to ICC’s media release.
