MNA Feature Desk: “When the demands of your life are at their peak and you become restless then go to the street children, listen to their basic needs and you will realize you have been craving for things that are not even necessary to live a life,” the statement comes from Ashro Bhuiyan, general secretary of Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL), Siddheswari University College. Yesterday, our photo journalist clicked a picture of him while he was busy with playing with street children.
When he was asked the reason of such activity, he said, “I have dedicated my life to the ideology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Chattra League is running through my veins but despite being a student leader, I am an ordinary being who feels that humanism is the supreme urge of politics. Whenever I get stressed, I come to these children, perhaps with some gift. I play with them and enjoy a real good time. I listen to the dreams of these innocent hearts and try to feel their sorrow. I think it helps me to become a better human. “Before becoming a good politician, you have to be a good human”, that’s what I have learned from Saifur Rahman Sohag bhai, president of Bangladesh Chattra League.”
A little boy from the crowd said, “Ashro Mama is such a good man, he is like family to us.”
