MNA Editorial Desk: The ruling Awami League (AL) led alliance has secured a landslide victory in the 11th parliamentary elections held across the country on Sunday. They are going to form the government for the consecutive third term under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Polls, by-polls to 133 local bodies underway


MNA National Desk: Elections and by-elections to some 133 local government bodies across the country began on Thursday morning amid tight security. The voting started at 8:00am and will end at 4:00pm without any break. Voting underway in Comilla city elections


MNA National Desk: Voting began at the second election of Comilla City Corporation with the mayoral candidates of both Awami League and BNP in the race on Thursday morning. The balloting in 103 polling stations across the city began at about 8:00am and it will continue till 4:00pm. Rousseff calls for referendum on early elections


MNA International Desk: Brazil’s suspended President Dilma Rousseff calls for a referendum on whether to hold early elections if she survives removal from office in an impeachment trial that is expected to conclude in August. “We must consult the population to rebuild a constitutional pact that was broken by the impeachment process,” Rousseff said in an interview aired on Thursday night. 10 killed in violence in 5th phase union council elections


MNA Editorial Desk: At least 10 people, comprising two applicants, have been killed in violence in the 5th phase of the union council elections. Voting was held in 717 unions under 45 districts on Saturday amid violence and accusations of rigging and other misconducts.
