Drug War: Death toll rises to 117

MNA National Desk: As a nationwide ‘anti-drug’ crackdown continues, 12 more people were killed in what the law enforcers called gunfights early Tuesday, reported news agency. With the incidents, the number of victims, who were described as drug dealers, has reached 117 since 12 May. In ‘gunfights’ with the Rapid Action Battalion and the police, the 12 people were killed in Dhaka, Thakurgaon, Brahmanbaria, Barguna, Cumilla, Mymensingh, Satkhira, Kushtia and Jashore. MNA National Desk: Six more suspected drug peddlers were killed in reported gunfights in Feni, Cumilla and Magura districts early Thursday in the latest anti-narcotics drive undertaken by law enforcement. A total of 55 people were killed in ‘gunfights’ across the country since 12 May, reports news agency. Of Thursday’s deceased, two each were killed in Feni, Cumilla and Magura districts. MNA National Desk: As the countrywide crackdown against drugs continues, eight suspected drug dealers were killed in reported gunfights with law enforcers in the early hours of Tuesday. During the reported gunfights between drug dealers and police or RAB members, two alleged drug peddlers were killed in Cumilla’s Aranyapur, two in Nilphamari, and one each in Netrokona, Feni’s Lemua, Chuadanga’s Alamdanga, Chattogram’s Bayezid and Dinajpur, claimed the law enforcers. MNA National Desk: At least eight suspected drug dealers were killed in separate gunfights at several areas of Jashore, Tangail, Jhenaidah, Chuadanga, Narsingdi, and Rajshahi in the early hours of Monday, said law enforcers. The reported gunfights mostly occurred as members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police conducted raids to detain suspected drug sellers.
