MNA Sports Desk: Russia has been banned from the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics after the IOC found evidence of an ‘unprecedented systematic manipulation’ of the anti-doping system that has led to a series of suspensions for the country’s athletes in recent months. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not impose a blanket ban on Russia ahead of the Rio 2016 Summer Games but said on Tuesday that the evidence unearthed by the Schmid Commission made the doping situation impossible to dispute. 7 Bangladeshi athletes to get IOC scholarships

MNA Sports Desk: Seven Bangladeshi athletes will get scholarships from International Olympic Committee (IOC) for long-term higher intensive training in their respective athletic fields, ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. They include four shooters, including the only woman, two archers, and one swimmer. The IOC is giving this opportunity for the sportsmen from developing countries to prepare themselves as well as to enable them to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics on their own ability, with a two year-intensive training period abroad.
