BD gets 1st delivery of imported LNG

MNA Business Desk: The maiden consignment of LNG reached Maheshkhali from Qatar to supply the imported gas to the national network. According to official sources, the very first consignment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) reached Chittagong through the Excelerate Energy’s floating storage and re-gasification unit (FSRU). ADB approves $583m for LNG project

MNA Business Desk: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved $583 million in debt financing and partial risk guarantees for the Reliance Bangladesh Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) and Power Project. The project, which is composed of a power generation facility in Meghnaghat and an LNG terminal near Cox Bazar’s Kutubdia, ADB said in a statement. Govt signed deal with Qatar to import LNG

MNA Business Desk: Bangladesh has signed a long-term “LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement with Qatar’s RasGas” to import up to 2.5 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually to meet the country’s growing energy demand. Petrobangla’s chairman Abul Mansur Md Faizullah and the chief executive officer of RasGas Hamad Rashid Al-mihammadi signed the agreement for 15 years on behalf of their respective sides with the target of supplying and procuring 2.5 tonnes of LNG annually, reported news agency.
