‘Tareque Masud Film Week’ begins

MNA Entertainment Desk: The ‘Tareque Masud Film Week’ will begin from today at European Standard School in the city’s Dhanmondi, reported news agency. According to the organisers of the event, the opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 5:00pm. Muktir Gaan, Otorjatra, Runway, Noroshundor, Adam Surat and Matir Moina will be screened in the festival organised by Digital Life. The event will continue till 16 January and it will remain open for all. MNA National Desk: The indefinite transport strike enforced in 10 districts of Khulna division protesting the life term imprisonment of a bus driver over Tareque Masud and Mishuk Munier killing case, entered the second day on Monday. The 10 districts are Bagerhat, Chuadanga, Jessore, Jhenidah, Khulna, Kushtia, Magura, Meherpur, Narail and Satkhira. All modes of vehicles, including the long-distance ones, stayed off the roads due to the strike enforced by Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation, causing immense sufferings to passengers. Life-term jail to bus driver for Tareque, Mishuk death

MNA National Desk: A Manikganj court handed over life term imprisonment to bus driver Jamir Hossain in a case filed over the death of filmmaker Tareque Masud, cinematographer Mishur Munier and three others in a road accident took place on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway. Zamir Hossain was also fined Tk 5,000. In default, he will have to spend three more months in jail. MNA National Desk: A Manikganj court on Sunday fixed February 22 for delivering its verdict in the case filed over the deaths of noted filmmaker Tareque Masud and cinematographer Mishuk Munier in a road accident that took place on Dhaka-Aricha highway in 2011. Additional District and Sessions Judge of Manikganj Al Mahmud Faizul Kabir passed the order. The court testified 24 witnesses among 39.
