MNA National Desk: Four people were killed and at least 25 injured as a commuter train derailed in Tongi of Gazipur today. Rail service to and from Dhaka to the rest of the country has been halted, except on the Narayanganj line. The accident occurred in Tongi’s Notunbazar area around 12:15pm on Sunday, said Joydepur Railway outpost SI Md Raqibul Islam. Three passengers died on the spot and several others were injured, police said. This is the second largest Muslim congregation after the Hajj held on the bank of Turag River at Tongi. MNA National Desk: A case has been filed with Tongi police station in Gazipur over a crude bomb attack on the prison van carrying Mufti Hannan, chief of the banned militant outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (Huji), and his associates on Monday. MNA National Desk: Two more rotten bodies were recovered on Monday from the remains of the Tampaco Foils factory in Tongi, raising the death toll in the fire incident to 38. Sixteen days after the fire, eleven people are still missing in the incident. MNA National Desk: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday said it had arrested four suspected militants, including a top regional head of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB), from Tongi of Gazipur.
