MNA National Desk: The much-awaited verdict in two cases filed over the grisly grenade attack on an Awami League rally in city’s Bangabandhu Avenue on August 21, 2004 will be delivered on Wednesday. The attack was launched on a political rally with the aim of killing the then opposition leader, now Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, claimed 24 lives and injured 300 others. Appeal filed challenging Khaleda’s verdict

MNA National Desk: Counsels of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia filed an appeal petition challenging the verdict sentencing the former prime minister to five years of imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case. The appeal plea was filed with a branch of High Court at about 3:00pm on Tuesday, said Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Barrister Kaysar Kamal. MNA National Desk: The High Court proceedings in delivering the verdict over the killings during the 2009 mutiny at the border guards’ headquarters in Dhaka’s Peelkhana have rolled into Monday. A three-member bench led by Justice Md Shawkat Hossain started announcing the verdict, with observations of over 1,000 pages, on Sunday morning. In court, Justice Hossain, however, said it cannot be confirmed when the bench would be able to complete reading out the verdict. MNA National Desk: A 163-page verdict for killing blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider in 2015 was published on the Supreme Court website on Sunday, sentencing two people to death, another to life term and six others to different jail terms. After getting signed by two Judges—Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim and Justice Md Jahangir Hossain, the verdict was published this morning.
