MNA Business Desk: Commodore Zulfikar Aziz of Bangladesh Navy has been appointed the new chairman of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA), reported news agency. Aziz will replace rear admiral M Khalid Iqbal as the new chairman.
Public administration ministry attached him to the shipping ministry on Tuesday, according to an order of the ministry signed by deputy secretary Numeri Zaman.
In the same order, captain Khandaker Akter Hossain of Bangladesh Air Force was appointed as member (Engineering) of the CPA. Outgoing chairman rear admiral M Khalid Iqbal was transferred to Bangladesh Armed Forces.
The CPA is a government agency responsible for the management, maintenance and governance of the country’s major port of Chittagong. The CPA is part of the Ministry of Shipping.
