Imran H Sarker gets bail

MNA National Desk: A Dhaka court on Thursday granted bail to Ganojagaran Mancha spokesperson Imran H Sarker and cultural activist Sanatan Ullash after surrendered in court in a case filed for making ‘derogatory’ remarks about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Dhaka additional chief judicial magistrate Sheikh Samidul Islam passed the order after both of them surrendered before the court seeking bail.

The court also fixed October 26 for charge framing hearing on the case.

According to the case statement, Imran and cultural activist Sanatan Ullash chanted defamatory slogans against the prime minister on May 27 over the removal of Greek goddess Themis from the Supreme Court premises in the capital.
