National Conference of BSKM 2019 held

MNA National Desk: The 7th national conference of Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela (BSKM) was held at the Shishu Academy auditorium on Saturday.

The conference resolved to take various programmes to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the ‘Mujib Year’ 2020.

BSKPresided over by BSKM president Mia Mansaf the conference was addressed by Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, Chief Adviser of BSKM, Lucky Enam, Chairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Mir Mosharref  Hossain, Chief Patron of BSKM, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist Dr. Monoranjan Ghosal and Dr. Abdus Sobhan, a leading expert on climate change. BSKM General Secretary Yasin Ahmed conducted the conference which was also addressed by conference preparatory committee convener Mohiuddin Manu and member secretary Saiful Islam.

Chief Adviser of BSK Mela Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury pleadged to save the country’s new generation from drug menace, terrorism and corruption as declared by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He also emphasized on loyalty of children to their parents and passion for local cultural practices. “Those who cannot be loyal to their parents – cannot be loyal to the society and the country,” he added.

BSKChief Patron of BSK Mela, Mir Mosharref Hossain in his speech said,”During 30 years of journey, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore mela is holding its National Council for seventh times. Bangabandhu’s daughter honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated four of them. The organization has come this far today due to advise, support and patronization of Sheikh Hasina.”

“BSK Mela has worked hard to protect the history of Bangladesh from deformation and to spread the ideology of Bangabandhu among the children and teenagers of the country. Moreover, this organization has taken strong activities in demand of punishment of Bangabandhu’s killers and war criminals,” he added.

He also said,”The history of Bangladesh is safe in the current context, Bangabandhu’s killers and war criminals were brought under justice. But now it is required to take strong stand against issues like; drugs, eveteasing, women empowerment, environment preservation etc. Hopefully BSK Mela will play vital role in addressing these issues.”

BSK“During this 30 years long journey, it was a great achievement that according to the advice of Dr. Neelima Ibrahim, BSK Mela founded the celebration of National Children’s Day on 17 March – birthday of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Next year Bangabandhu’s 100th birth anniversary will be celebrated nationwide and BSK Mela will also be a part of it so that Bangabandhu’s principles can be embedded among the children of the country,” he added.

He also added, “During the last decade of Awami League in the power of the government, thousands of organizations were formed using the name of Bangabandhu and many allegations were raised against the leaders and activists of different affiliated organizations of Awami League. We are glad that, no such allegations were raised against any leaders or activists of this organization. In this ‘Mujib Year’, we must promise that no such allegations will ever be raised against any of us and we will be part of any social and national drive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist Dr. Monoranjan Ghosal said, “All the people associated with BSK Mela, let it be the leaders, activists, children or guardians must uphold the ideology of Bangabandhu, liberation war and sovereign Bangladesh. The newly elected committee members also must work with passion to serve this goal.”

BSKChairman of Bangladesh Shishu Academy and ‘Ekushey Podok’ recipient Lucky Enam in her speech said, “BSK Mela must strengthen their cultural activities throughout the country so that it may abolish social issues like drugs, eveteasing, abuse of children and women etc. Cultural practices will always help in creating opportunities of good mental development of the children and teenagers of this country.”

Delegates from different district committees attended the conference. A large number of guardians were also present.

District unit leaders presented their reports in the second session in the afternoon. Prominent actor, academic and ‘Ekushey Padak’ recipient Dr. Enamul Haque as present as the chief guest of this session.

The child artists of BSKM presented a cultural programme at the conference.

The conference elected BSKM new 101 member central committee with Meah Monsaf and Yasin Ahmed as President and General Secretary respectively.
