PM leaves Abu Dhabi for NY to attend UNGA

MNA National Desk: After making a stopover in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left here for New York to attend the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

An Etihad Airways flight carrying the premier and her entourage members took off from Abu Dhabi Airport at 10:50am local time, Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE Muhammad Imran told BSS on Sunday.

Ambassador Imran saw the prime minister off at the airport. The flight is scheduled to reach John F Kennedy International Airport in New York at 4.20pm (NY time).

Sheikh Hasina left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for Abu Dhabi at 2.10pm (BST) on Saturday.

The prime minister will address the UNGA in the afternoon of September 21.  She will have a bilateral meeting with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres the same day.

The prime minister will return home on October 2.
